‘Left Behind’ Uses Most Infamous Number in Prophecy for Release Date

WHEATON, Ill., May 2 /Christian Wire Service/ — Who better than the authors who’ve sold Raputuremore than 63 million books featuring the antichrist, Left Behind Series writers Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, to use the number most closely associated with “the beast” as the street date for their next title? The duo’s fifteenth book together, "The Rapture" ($25.99/Tyndale), releases on June 6, 2006 or 06-06-06.

LaHaye and Jenkins are not the only ones to give a nod to the 666 sequence. The remake of “The Omen” featuring the young antichrist Damian releases on June 6 as well.

“Why not make the connection?” says Jenkins. “Our novels use the Book of Revelation as a framework and it’s in Revelation 13:18 that 666 is used in reference to the antichrist. The funny thing is that number never appears anywhere in our books.”

Jenkins thought it was too predictable to use 666 in the Left Behind® novels, but he’s found a few clever ways to work it in. For instance, the number 216 occurs often in regard to the antichrist character Nicolae Carpathia.

“Almost every significant number in the story is the sum, remainder, product, or divisor of 666, i.e., 6+6+6, 6-6-6, 6×6x6, etc.,” answers Jenkins. “In this case, 216 = 6×6x6.”

But LaHaye and Jenkins don’t stop with math problems. Note the name of the antichrist’s assistant, Viv Ivins. Look carefully and see that it is 666 in roman numerals.

On June 6, some Christian retailers are embracing the 666 theme by selling paperback editions of the Left Behind books for $6.66.

“It seemed very natural to release ‘The Rapture’ on June 6,” says Cheryl Kerwin, Tyndale marketing manager. “We knew it would make the street date memorable. We’ve had a few people who were a bit rattled by the number call and ask ‘Do you realize what day that is?’”

Jenkins advises that people have nothing to fear on June 6. “People are naturally afraid of the number because of who it is associated with. It’s just a number. It’s the antichrist who is evil.”

New York Pastor Publishes Two Books Demonstrating The Aramaic New Testament Is Divinely Authored

(PRWEB via PR Web Direct) January 29, 2006 — Rev. David Bauscher of Cambridge, NY has just published two books with Lulu.com, the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books. The books are titled "Divine Contact- The Original New Testament Discovered" and "The Aramaic –English Peshitta Interlinear Gospels."

About "Divine Contact- The Original New Testament Discovered"

This book documents an incredible phenomenon in The Peshitta New Testament, which was written in the language of Jesus and his countrymen of 1st century Israel. Aramaic was used in Mel Gibson’s film "The Passion of the Christ" to make the film as realistic and accurate as possible. This discovery of long Gospel messages in the form of "Bible Codes" will surprise and thrill the reader with the power and inspiration of the words of the Codemaker - "God". One of these is a 191 letter code in poetic form (Hebrew & Aramaic) found via Codefinder software, by skipping 74,806 letters of NT text to find each letter of the code. This goes through the NT almost 16 times! This and other long codes and an exhaustive search for Divine Name codes give very compelling evidence that The Aramaic Peshitta NT is the Divinely authored original behind the Greek NT.

The author bases his conclusion on an extensive and exhaustive scientific experiment which searches for 95 Divine Names in Hebrew and Aramaic as hidden codes in The Peshitta text. A control Hebrew text was also searched. The codes and nine other comprehensive analysis take up 107 -11" x 17" pages! Full color is used throughout the book, with many illustrations of codes in large Hebrew letters with English translations, graphs and charts and art work.

About "The Aramaic –English Peshitta Interlinear Gospels"

This is the New Testament in the language of Jesus and his countrymen of 1st century Israel, with a word for word translation into English next to each Aramaic word. Aramaic was used in Mel Gibson’s film "The Passion of the Christ" to make the film as realistic and accurate as possible. This New Testament will surprise and thrill the reader with its power and inspiration coming from the words of "Ayshu" (“Jesus” in ancient Aramaic) as He originally spoke them and a very literal English rendering. Much evidence is presented demonstrating very powerfully that "The Peshitta Aramaic NT" is the original behind

"The Greek NT"

Full color is used throughout the book, with many graphics and even photos from Dead Sea Scrolls to illustrate an Aramaic verse and how a reading was interpreted by a Greek translating the text. The Interlinear has each verse of the Gospels in large Hebrew letters with adjacent English words in blue. There are many textual notes in each Gospel with accompanying devotional commentary in John’s Gospel for the first half of John and chapter 17. The four Gospels and translation take up over 900 pages!

Each book is currently available at www.aramaicnt.com as a downloadable PDF file for your computer, or as a CD book which is mailed to the customer in a CD jewel case with a colorfully illustrated cover.

Monkey Business in Pennsylvania

Kitzmiller v. Dover, the intelligent design case now being tried in Pennsylvania, has been compared to the "Scopes Monkey Trial"Monkey Business: The True Story Of The Scopes Trial. In todays Chuck Colsons column, he reports on the remarks John Jones, the trial judge.

Jones told the Philadelphia Inquirer last weekend that he “became a judge with the hope of having an opportunity to rule in matters of great importance.” That’s why he looked forward to hearing this case. (BreakPoint.org)

I saw the original film, "Inherit The Wind" based very loosely on the Scopes trial. In my ignorance, I cheered for the defense for evolution. The defense lawyer, Charles Darrow was actually working with the ACLU, and the whole trial was a set up to test an obscure Tennessee law that was never really enforced and to discredit creation and Christianity.

Many of the reporters reporting on the trial used sensationalism and distorted the facts. They made fun of creationist at the expense of Christianity. Monkey Business: The True Story of the Scopes Trial  by authors Marvin Olasky and John Perry tell the real story behind all the "monkey business." Their book exposes the myths and truths that were never reported to the public and how the ACLU will use any situation to prove a point in court against Christianity.

Book Review - “Counterfeit Revival”

Reviewed by Walt Dimmock

Counterfeit Revival written by Hank Hanegraaff

counterfeit_revival.jpgWhile multitudes clamor for a massive revival, what the body of Christ desperately needs is a mighty reformation. Only as the church is reformed will the culture be revived. The real experience is not found I the works of FLESH, rather it is found in the basic fundamentals. First the body of Christ must rediscover the joy of genuine worship through a passion for prayer, praise, and the proclamation of the WORD. (Page 17, Counterfeit Revival)

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world (1 John 4:1-3 NKJV)

Satan is a master counterfeiter. Rather than presenting evil in its naked deformity, he masquerades as an angel of enlightenment. He wants people to encounter him and think they are in touch with the living God. His ultimate deception is a counterfeit revival. And “Counterfeit Revival” exposes this deception.

Book review - “Ashamed of the Gospel”

Review by Walt Dimmock

Ashammed of the GospelAshamed of the Gospel by John F. MacArthur Jr.

John MacArthur’s “Ashamed of the Gospel” is thought-provoking on the biblical views of the seeker sensitive movement. It is sadly unfortunate that this book had to be written, but the truth about the state of today’s churches is must read for all concerned Christians.

Many of today’s church services are not teaching the true gospel of Jesus or good Christian doctrine. Instead, many of the churches are more concerned with pragmatism. Pragmatism ignores doctrine and focuses more on achieving success than on communicating God’s word unashamedly.

Pragmatism theology is killing the true church! John MacArthur’s well documented “Ashamed of the Gospel” exposes this deadly theology. Tragically, this theology emphasizes church growth over church doctrine. And many mega churches boast of their success by the size of their congregations.

Book Review - Finding Peace in Life’s Storms

Finding Peace In Life’s Storms by C. H. Spurgeon

Review by Walt Dimmock

Finding Peace in Lifes Storms by CH SpurgeonI have read many bits and pieces of the works and have listened to many of the sermons by the Prince of Preachers, Charles H. Spurgeon. But, this is the first book by Spurgeon that I have been able to read from cover to cover with enthusiasm. I was impressed by his easy understood teachings of God’s gift of hope. Charles Spurgeon writes with strong encouragement that will help strengthen your walk with Christ. And, you will have the assurance of personally weathering all storms and of your salvation.

Spurgeon uses vivid allegories and metaphors that help to make his point, are the trademark of his easily understood teachings. For example, he writes about the anchor of your soul that keeps you from getting “shipwreck” in life’s storms. A ship does not need an anchor when in calm waters. However, in storms or when approaching shoreline, the anchor is used to steady and control the ship from deadly danger, else you become shipwrecked. He equates the anchor of our soul to the everlasting truths of the word.

"Thanks to the anchor, or rather to the God who gave it to you, no storm has overwhelmed you. Your ship is under way for the port of Glory” (Page 40)
